Wellington School is a famous independent school in Wellington, a small, friendly town, with banks, supermarkets, a Post Office and several takeaway restaurants. The town is surrounded by beautiful green countryside, and the air is clean, without any pollution.
The Junior Academic Course includes 9 hours of English plus at least 15 hours other academic subjects in English, with special emphasis on technical English vocabulary. The Pre-GCSE Course includes 9 hours of English and at least 6 hours of homework per week.
There is a full-day trip each week for both the Pre-GCSE and Junior Academic Course, with the Junior Academic Course also having an additional half day trip each week. The full-day trips may include: Longleat, Oxford, Bristol, Bath, Dunster, Cardiff, Paignton Zoo, Air & Car Musuem, Glastonbury Tor and Dartmoor. The half day trips are different each year and may include raft building, beach combing and climbing! There are also small local shopping trips on a Sunday. Afternoon sports sessions introduce students to traditional British sports including netball, rugby, rounders, and cricket, as well as many others. There are two main social events per week and students can choose from a variety of Sunday Clubs.
All students live in safe, clean and well heated Boarding Houses on the Wellington School campus, where Boys and girls live in separate buildings. Rooms are twin, triple and multi-bedded at Wellington School.
