Plumpton College is situated in the quiet village of Plumpton, nestled in the rolling hills of the South Downs National Park, an area of outstanding beauty, 10 miles from the seaside town of Brighton.
With a sprawling site of 900 hectares, including tennis courts, sports fields, vineyards, a sports hall, an animal care centre and a forest, Plumpton College has a wide range of opportunities for sports and activities and in safe and secure setting.
Plumpton College also has the largest horse riding stables in the south of England. Bucksmore students can choose to undertake horse riding lessons as an optional extra, making use of the indoor and outdoor riding schools.
Plumpton College provides both single and twin bedrooms in separate male and female accommodation blocks, and all bathrooms are shared between 4-6 students. Laundry is available onsite and free of charge.
A residential course with 20 hours of tuition each week and a maximum class size of 11 students, Bucksmore Summer is a classic English language course that immerses students aged 10-13 or 13-16 in the English language. Combined with a fun-filled activity and excursion programme, this programme is ideal for students wanting more from their summer and who, mostly, will be on their first summer school away from home.

Bucksmore Coding provides students of all language abilities with the opportunity to combine English language tuition with learning the fundamental elements of software design.
This is a unique opportunity for students to bring together two key languages for the future: English and programming. The course runs as part of the larger Bucksmore Summer programme, with the addition of 7.5 hours of coding classes in a modern computer laboratory in place of English lessons.
The Animal Care programme at Plumpton will give students the opportunity to see and engage with our extensive range of animals: from amphibians and fish to birds, mammals and reptiles. Students have 7.5 hours of Animal Care tuition per week spending time in the specialist Animal Care unit, learning how to care for animals along with what they need as well as handling some of Plumpton’s small animals.
Most of the time spent in the animal management unit will be interactive. As well as this, student’s have 15 hours of English tuition per week as well as activities and excursions out of classes.

Bucky Adventure is a summer school experience that combines English language with adventure activities such as sailing, mountain biking and kayaking.
With 20 hours of English tuition each week and a maximum class size of 11 students, the course immerses students aged 13-16 in the English language. With great access to water sports and adventure facilities in the local area, students are able to go hiking, mountain biking and take advantage of the water sports available.
