What is an immersion course?

Short Stay programmes at UK boarding schools are becoming more and more popular. Sometimes known as Immersion Programmes, they are short term courses designed specifically for international students to experience daily life and academic study alongside British students.

Students on the Immersion Programmes join the regular school timetable, living in boarding houses with long term students, participating in classes, extracurricular activities, and weekend excursions to improve their English and cultural understanding.

Key features

Integrate in a UK school

Your students will live in the same boarding houses as British students and attend lessons with them, participating in the school's full timetable, including activities and social events.

Academic focus

Students follow the standard UK curriculum, gaining an insight into different teaching styles. Some programmes may offer extra English language support.

Extracurriculars and activities

Students will have access to a wide range of co-curricular activities, sports, and social events to help you make friends and improve your English outside the classroom.

Cultural immersion

Weekend trips to local cities and attractions are often included to provide a deeper understanding of British culture and history.

Students coming to the UK for short term courses still require a UK based guardian to act in an emergency while they are here.

In response to the surge in popularity of the Immersion Programme, Bright World has designed a specific package to accommodate a shorter period of guardianship, whilst also allowing for emergency and exeat host family accommodation in host families to be provided if necessary.
