UK guardianships for international students

Established in 2000, Bright World is one of the UK's leading Guardianship Organisations and has placed thousands of students into UK boarding schools since its foundation. Bright World works with over 400 UK boarding schools, colleges and UK universities. 

Bright World has a well established and reliable host family network for international students that spans the whole of the UK (except Ireland). It is very important for parents to know that there will be a caring and safe host family in place when students need it, and sufficient families in our network to step in an emergency or unexpected situation.

We are very well known for our high quality, hand-picked and trusted host families and our ability to provide for long term continuity for students, as well as emergency accommodation at the last minute. Every family has been inspected by our Local Coordinator and has undergone safeguarding training and police checks.

From time to time, students may need to leave school unexpectedly, their flight may be cancelled leaving a gap once the school has closed, they need to leave school during some leave weekends (exeats) and half term holidays. Bright World can offer safe and secure host family accommodation during these planned and unexpected events.   

A Bright World UK guardian will ensure that all the needs of your child are met and offers parents peace of mind and security in the knowledge that there is always someone there to give a helping hand.

All UK boarding schools require overseas parents to appoint a responsible adult or organisation to act as educational guardian to their child. Universities also require a UK guardian for the under 17s.

The Bright World Guardianship programme offers a choice of programmes to suit all needs.

• Our host families provide a home from home for boarding school students who are not travelling back to their country for the holidays.

Parents who do not need a host family or travel services can opt for our Essential guardianship package.

Our UK Guardianship programme offers a total care package from day one of a student’s stay in the UK and throughout their study period.  

Our clients (parents and their agents) benefit from the use of BLINK, our cloud-based Parent Portal where you will see a live timeline of our reports, visits and Parents Evenings feedback forms.   

Unlike many other guardianship organisations, we are fully accredited by AEGIS (Association for the Education and Guardianship of International Students) to Gold standard. This means our practises and processes have been thoroughly inspected and audited by this important organisation and we can therefore guarantee that we will act in your child’s best interest at all times.
