The MPW London campus is located in the very heart of South Kensington, one of the most exclusive and affluent parts of the capital. The college and newly built accommodation are situated on the same street, and are just moments away from world famous academic and cultural attractions, including Imperial College, the Royal College of Art and the Royal College of Music. Museums for every interest (including the Science Museum and V&A) and the iconic Royal Albert Hall are also nearby.

Cambridge is a city steeped in history; home to many beautiful museums, art galleries and stunning architecture, as well as the renowned University of Cambridge. MPW Cambridge is located in the heart of the city, next door to the University of Cambridge Botanic Gardens, as well as the University’s Engineering and Chemistry faculties. Student’s stay in purpose-built student accommodation, within walking distance of the college and the Cambridge Leisure Park.

In London, students reside at Queen’s Gate House. This outstanding new boarding facility provides stylish en-suite bedrooms that offer panoramic views across South Kensington. The accommodation is just a few minutes’ walk from the college, as well as from a host of world famous museums and attractions.

Cambridge

In Cambridge, Tripos Court provides comfortable, secure accommodation with en-suite bedrooms and beautiful gardens, perfect for socialising on sunny days. The accommodation is a 15-minute walk through a beautiful park to the college. All students will be chaperoned to and from school as a group each day.

Catering

London students dine each day at Queen’s Gate House, while Cambridge students will have continental breakfast at the boarding residence, lunch provided by caterers at school, and evening meals will be a mixture of catered and dining out at local restaurants.

The MPW summer programme combines exciting academic streams, innovative life skills workshops and industry field trips to equip students with the knowledge and skills for their continuing education and beyond.

Students will also hear from world-leading experts and academics from the University of Cambridge and University of London in a weekly lecture series and career talks to further enrich their experience.

In the morning, students take part in classes in their chosen academic stream, and each afternoon they will attend life skills workshops or Academic English and IELTS.

Advanced Mathematics & Problem Solving*

  • Students hone their problem-solving skills and gain a deeper understanding of key mathematical concepts. Differentiation, algebra and trigonometry are just some of the areas covered to help tackle complex mathematical problems.

Art & Design*

  • Experiment with different media, techniques and forms to express creativity. Explore illustration, painting, typography, colour and more. Be inspired on art gallery tours and learn about building a portfolio for entry to creative arts courses and institutions.

  • Develop an understanding of the commercial world. Gain insight into how businesses operate – from business planning, investments and supply chains, all the way through to branding and marketing.

  • Take an exciting look into the future. Students explore the technology that will shape our lives and discover areas of personal interest, with topics ranging from crypto to coding. Bring your imagination to tasks such as building a robot and developing characters for computer games.

  • Understand the institutions and decisions that affect how we live and are governed. Explore the social, legal and political issues that dominate the headlines in our increasingly interconnected, but volatile world.

Mathematics, Physics and Engineering*

  • This stream brings an understanding of these three complementary subjects to life. With a mix of practical workshops and theoretical sessions to explore topics such as speed and acceleration, light properties, trigonometry, and electrical circuits.

Medicine and Sciences

  • Start the journey to medical school. Students take part in practical, hands-on workshops and build their theoretical knowledge, gain valuable guidance from medical professionals and insight into how to succeed through the medical school admissions process.

Psychology and Sociology*

  • Students take a fascinating look at human behaviour and how it shapes modern society. Discovering the theory behind criminal behaviour, exploring social identity, analysing family function in modern societies, and the influence of the media.

life Skills in partnership with Eton College

Eton College

MPW have partnered with Eton College to deliver a range of innovative Life Skills courses that will help to give students a competitive edge in gaining a place at a top university and equipping them for their career and life beyond. As part of the summer programme, students can choose one Eton X Life Skills course per week from a choice of Public speaking, Creative problem solving or Resilience.

academic English and IELTS preparation

Students who prefer to focus on improving their English level have the option to study Academic English and general IELTS Preparation, rather than life skills. Experienced English language teachers will guide students through useful lessons in topics such as note taking, academic presentations, vocabulary, pronunciation and listening skills. Fun and interactive lessons encourage students to build confidence and improve language skills in small classes with ample opportunity for individual attention.

University Lecture series


The University Lecture series aims to enrich and inspire students. Each week, they will listen to world-leading academics from the University of London and University of Cambridge, who will explore a wide range of thought-provoking topics. The lectures, taking place on a university campus, see students learning from academics about intriguing topics, with a link to current events and new research.

Industry Field trips

London and Cambridge are home to many innovative businesses. Outside of the classroom, summer students will visit companies, seeing the ideas of concept to delivery come to life. These valuable learning experiences are excellent chances to explore career options and gain an insider view of the many opportunities for future career success.

Guest Speakers

Each subject will have inspiring guest speakers who are career and subject experts. Students participate in lively discussions to further enhance their experience and add to their knowledge of life beyond school.
