Bright World offers guardianship at boarding schools across the UK. We have a Local Coordinator who lives nearby and a dedicated Head Office member of staff dealing with parents and the school. We also have a network of host families in Bedfordshire within easy reach of the school. Taxi drivers, fully screened by us, will be available for airport transfers and other travel within the UK as part of our service.

Bedford School is a leading boarding and day school for boys aged 7 to 18, located in the heart of Bedford, Bedfordshire. Founded in 1552, the school combines a rich heritage with a modern, forward-looking approach to education, guided by its ethos: That they be good men.
Set on an impressive 50‑acre estate, the school offers an outstanding all-round education that places equal value on academic achievement, character development and wellbeing. Boys are encouraged to think independently, act wisely and engage confidently with the wider world. Small class sizes, inspiring teaching and excellent facilities support a broad and ambitious curriculum, preparing boys for GCSE and IGCSE exams, and for A-Level and BTEC exams in the Sixth Form.
Beyond the classroom, the school provides a wide range of co‑curricular opportunities in sport, creative arts and beyond, enabling every boy to discover and develop his strengths. Boarding lies at the heart of the school’s warm and inclusive community, offering a supportive home from home for their boarders. The boarding houses are small, with no more than 40 boys in each, creating a homely and reassuring environment in which the Houseparents and other resident staff know each boy well. The houses are vertically structured to create a family-style dynamic, and the younger boys are guided and looked after by older ones. Each house has a large garden and comfortable communal spaces, as well as quiet corners for study or relaxation. Boarders have access to a rich, varied programme of evening activities. There are also weekend trips including visits to London, Oxford and Cambridge, go-karting, laser tag and more, as well as special events such as the annual Boarders’ Games and Boarders’ Dinner.
Renowned for its strong pastoral care and friendly ethos, Bedford School prepares boys not only for academic success, but for life beyond Bedford. A-Level results are strong, with more than half of all exam entries last year receiving top A*/A grades, and 85% were awarded A*/B. The majority of leavers take up places at top universities both in the UK and overseas, the most popular university destinations including Durham, King’s College London, UCL, Bristol, Nottingham and Leeds. Medicine is a popular choice of degree at Bedford, and last year all nine boys who applied to read Medicine secured their places at university.
