Opening in September 2023, Oxford International College Brighton is Bucksmore Education's newest venue. The multi-million pound development includes everything a student could need within a stunning 80,000-square metre enclosed campus, providing an ideal location for young students. Facilities include modern teaching facilities, state-of-the-art laboratories and newly furnished boarding houses. Located a short distance from the seaside town of Brighton.
Bucksmore offer three 2 week course options at Oxford International College - Brighton. The courses are designed to develop and challenge students, offering a high-level of English language development and academic content that students can use to help them progress towards their future education and career goals.
Three course options to choose from
Bucksmore English for ages 10-13 & 13-16
Bucksmore English aims to build strong fluency and enhance English oral and written communication skills through a fun and dynamic language curriculum. Students develop their English skills through engaging academic tutorials, group projects, conversation classes, and hands-on excursions that take learning outside the classroom. Student progress is tracked and assessed at the end of each course by Bucksmore Assessment, an evaluation tool developed in alignment with the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) scale. Language level B1 required.
Leaders of Change for ages 13–15
Based around the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set by the United Nations in 2015, this course helps students to develop key 21st century leadership skills whilst tackling issues that are increasingly important to modern teenagers, through creative projects and local action.
IELTS preparation for ages 15-17 & 16-18
The IELTS preparation programme is for students planning to take the IELTS examination, fine-tuning their English language skills and preparation for IELTS. The programme provides language support, as well as developing key insights and knowledge surrounding the IELTS examination content, marking criteria and examination skills, with a bi-weekly in-house IELTS mock examination and one-to-one tailored feedback from IELTS experts. At the end of the course, students have the option to take the IELTS examination. Language level B1 required.
Cultural experience
Every Bucksmore Education programme is carefully designed to provide fun and educational excursions that allow students to further their studies outside of the classroom. Whether this takes the form of a ride on the London Eye taking in the spectacular sights of Central London, a private tour of various Cambridge or Oxford Universities, or a coordinated sports session on site, the social programme will engage and absorb students into British culture and heritage, guarantee long-lasting friendships and offering plentiful opportunities for students to improve their English in real-life settings. The excursions will promote communication skills for the students, testing their English language skills with each other and with members of the public.
